Voice Quality Engineer

Are you passionate about innovative technologies at the intersection of speech and music? Interested in Sonos, and further raising the quality bar of voice to evolve the experience of music in your home?

We’re looking for someone with experience building large scale test automation infrastructure who has a strong technical audio background. You will be a valued part of the team using state-of-the-art techniques to simulate, measure and predict how our products will perform in our customer’s homes.

What You’ll Do
What You’ll Do:

•  Build, maintain and grow infrastructure for large scale voice recognition and speech enhancement testing
•  Engage with our voice partners to design test interfaces for embedded and cloud technologies
•  Work with cross-functional teams (UX, Dev) to build tests that ensure our products have industry-leading user experience in speech 
•  Review, organize, and triage test results (data analytics)
•  Partner closely with acoustic measurement teams to build real-world room and speech data into accurate, virtualized tests
•  Find new innovate ways to test and measure voice recognition performance 

Skills You’ll Need
Skills You’ll Need:

•  5+ years of Software Development, Software Operations, SQA, or similar focus, preferably in Audio or Voice
•  Bachelor in CS/CE/EE, Masters in an engineering discipline preferred
•  Experience with speech and audio quality metrics, audio processing, speech recognition or other Machine Learning technologies
•  Ability to design and build testing infrastructure from the ground up
•  Solid programming skills with a focus on building workflow and audio analysis tools
•  Be very analytical, data driven, self-motivated and pro-active, with multi-tasking and creative and critical thinking capabilities

Preferred:

•  Direct experience in building and executing large scale voice recognition tests
•  Ability to handle large amounts of quantitative data and aggregate results that are meaningful to developers
•  Experience deploying automated tests in continuous integration (Jenkins)
•  Experience with the following tools or similar tools: Audio Precision, ACQUA (HEAD Acoustics), Adobe Audition
