Technical Program Manager

Department: Platforms and Infrastructure

Location: Boston

Req#: 3480

At Sonos, we are passionate about bringing music into every home.  To fulfill this mission we manage a variety of infrastructure based services.  Our infrastructure is used when our products are bringing you the sounds you love and are used by our bandmates from California to China (and many places in between). If you like music and infrastructure related projects, this is your dream job.

About You

Our band is large. And while there’s plenty of room for all kinds of personalities and skill sets to succeed, there are certain qualities that will help you thrive here.

Like a never-accept-less work ethic. An exceptionally low ego-to-talent ratio (none of the first, tons of the latter). A relentless craving to push past your limits and try new things. The smarts and the humble confidence to take on big challenges, make mistakes fast and early, embrace tough feedback, then recover quickly with fresh, startlingly perfect solutions. A fearless willingness to defend great work. And a tendency to totally geek out on music.

If this sounds like you, read on and let’s connect soon.

What You’ll Do
You will manage cross-discipline projects across multiple teams. You’ll define the scope of a project, work with multiple teams to understand the effort and then make it happen.  You will be intimately involved with migrating services to Amazon Web Services and the maturation of our Site Reliability practice.

Why You'll Love It

You’ll be part of a collaborative, team of Network, Site Reliability and Systems Engineers that strive to be relentlessly progressive with our designs, quality, and execution.  The platforms we build are used by engineers, executives, and decision-makers throughout the entire organization.  You will be supported by some of the most friendly, brilliant, and fun people you’ve ever worked with.  Your unique skills will be welcomed by a team ready to absorb your experience delivering infrastructure as code using agile methodologies.

Skills You’ll Need
You have the smarts to take on big challenges, make mistakes fast and early, embrace honest feedback, and work together to identify better solutions. You have years of experience managing a variety of infrastructure related projects.  You’ve done migrations, but you’ve also delivered interesting projects from scratch. You have a global mindset and an appreciation for the nuances of infrastructure in North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.  You have a deep understanding of the AWS platform and have delivered projects using at a minimum EC2, S3 & EBS.  You like to deliver iteratively and with agility, but you aren’t married to a single definition of agile. If this sounds like you, join us in building a sustainable infrastructure platform that will position Sonos to bring music into every home.
How to Audition
We will review your application and provide feedback within 2 weeks.
More About Our Band

In 2002, we set out to reinvent home audio for the digital age. Our mission–to fill every home with amazing sounding music. Yes, it was an ambitious goal. Challenging, too. And that hasn’t changed.

Since those early days, we’ve remained tirelessly focused on finding innovative ways to make listening out loud, with friends and loved ones, the truly transformative experience it should be. We’ve seen our vision capture the imaginations of music lovers in more than 60 countries, as we’ve continued to introduce products, software, and technologies that help people share the songs they love, discover new music they never knew existed, and experience richer, more musical lives.

At Sonos, we are building a team with extraordinary talent to help us fill every home with music. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
