You will help us continue to build an excellent employee experience by focusing on one or more predefined projects in a core people team focus area, which might include:

  • Designing a recommended structure to understand the development needs and goals of our employees and recommending how to use a new HR system to support this process. (People Development + HR systems - how we help our employees do the best work of their lives)
  • Managing the coordination of a global event aimed at social impact and volunteerism. (Internal Communications and Culture – how we keep our employees informed and inspired) 
  • Using your logistics and communications mastery to support recruiting/talent needs at Sonos by managing the coordination of a massive women’s networking event. (Diversity and Inclusion + Talent Acquisition - how we hire the people to inspire the world to listen better)
All projects will be in support of a current, high-priority body of work within the People Team with a defined beginning, middle and end for you to own the project from start to finish during your internship.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop a deep understanding of Sonos people practices and dive deep in one area where your primary internship project will be based.  
  • Own a project from start to finish which is aligned with a current People Team priority and workstream aimed at improving the effectiveness of our people and Sonos. This will involve: defining the project scope, need and impact; collaborating across the people team and other stakeholder groups to inform (and co-design, as applicable) a recommended solution; implementing the solution, including change management and communications, as necessary; and, creating a plan for evaluating impact and effectiveness.
  • Daily tasks will vary based on the project focus area, but will likely include:
    • scheduling and leading meetings with groups and 1:1 to inform your project and test/pilot the solution
    • developing, maintaining and adjusting a project timeline based on availability of stakeholders and the People Team operational calendar
    • reading and aggregating online research and/or analyzing data related to your project
    • writing out and documenting recommended solutions or approaches to the problem, which will need to be socialized and updated throughout the course of the project
    • drafting a communications plan, change management approach and actual communications for introducing the solution, which may involve updates or adds to our intranet
    • participating in team meetings and other people team projects
Skills You’ll Need
Basic Qualifications:
  • Able to plan, organize and orchestrate collaborative work across teams
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely in writing, through presentations and verbally, explaining technical or complicated concepts in simple ways across diverse audiences
  • Able to establish relationships quickly across and beyond the People Team
  • Experience building structure into how you work and what you create through things like documentation, scheduling, and taking great notes
  • Willing to be creative, try new things and embrace learning on the job
  • Able and excited to identify needs on your own and suggest solutions
  • Exemplifies the Sonos behaviors of respect, transparency, ownership and collaboration
