Sr. Accounting Analyst - Equity & Comp Accounting

Sonos is seeking an experienced Accounting Professional to join its collaborative, high-performing Accounting team! In this role, you will be responsible for calculating earnings per share, accounting for stock-based compensation, and addressing unusual and complex technical accounting transactions. You will also work closely with SEC Reporting, FP&A, and Global Payroll & Stock Admin to improve forecasting and overall visibility of our equity related accounts and metrics. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Equity and Comp Accounting, and can be based either in Boston or Santa Barbara.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage the global equity accounting close process, including Blackline reconciliations and preparation of the monthly equity roll forward.
  • Own the accounting, reporting, and analysis for the Company’s corporate bonus and other compensation agreements. Serve as subject matter expert on related technical accounting issues.
  • Work with SEC reporting team to ensure accuracy and adequacy of the Company’s more complex SEC disclosures such as EPS, statement of cash flows, and stock based compensation. Drive improved forecasting of these areas.
  • Partner with the technical accounting team to ensure proper accounting for non-routine, unusual or complex events and transactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with the company’s external auditors to successfully resolve complex accounting and reporting matters. 
  • Ensure SOX 404 compliance for all areas of responsibility.
  • Work closely with the Sr. Manager Corporate Accounting on the implementation of strategic plans, projects, and programs.
Skills You’ll Need
  • Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or mathematics
  • 4+ years at a public accounting firm (Big 4 experience); experience with EPS and/or stock based compensation highly preferred
  • Advanced Excel/systems skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity towards problem solving
  • Intense attention to detail and the ability to prioritize  
  • Excellent project management and process improvement skillset 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working on a geographically dispersed team a plus
