You'll play a key role in advancing this major component of our core strategy and unlocking new and exciting ways to control a Sonos system to deliver world-class music experiences to our customers.

As a member of the Test team your role will be to help build and test cloud-based microservices that enable our partners to efficiently and securely develop new Sonos experiences for our customers. Our goal is to ensure that we can rapidly release services confidently and support them easily.

What You’ll Do

Test engineers on the Cloud Platform team work as equal partners with our developers and systems engineers. The whole team is responsible for designing, developing, testing, delivering and supporting our services. You will be expected to understand the features being built and help determine the best course of action to test and deliver those features in an automated fashion.

  • Be a voice of the consumer on the team and help hone the end user experience through thoughtful testing and validation.
  • Engineer new automated testing methodologies.
  • Partner with developers to write automated tests and tools.
  • Improve the developer experience via automated pipelines that provide timely feedback and a seamless path to production.
  • Propose new forms of data and metrics to allow the team to make decisions on where to focus and improve our tests.
  • Monitor, debug and fix breakages within our automated infrastructure.
  • Help ensure new code moves easily through our deployment pipeline.
  • Work with the Operations teams when issues are found in deployed services as a part of the on-call rotation.
Skills You’ll Need

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated proficiency programming in an Object Oriented environment (Java, C++, etc.)
  • Ability to break down complex problems into elegant, testable pieces
  • Willingness to debug and resolve challenging technical issues with our services
  • Demonstrated expertise with:
    • RESTful API testing
    • Jenkins (or other CI build systems)
    • Deployment tooling (such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef)
    • Building extensible automated test frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Thrive in a fast paced, agile environment
