Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

You'll have a direct impact on the business, advancing a major component of our core strategy, and unlocking innovative ways to control a Sonos system, such as voice and smart home integrations.
As a member of the Quality Team your role will be to help build innovative solutions to measure the overall quality of our services and APIs from early prototypes to production and on-wards. Our goal is to ensure that we can rapidly release with high quality, iterate confidently and support our customers easily.

Quality engineers on the team work on a cross-functional team as equal partners with our developers and systems engineers. The whole team is responsible for designing, developing, testing, delivering, and supporting our features. You will be expected to understand the features being built and help determine the best course of action to ensure the features are testable and create the tools and frameworks to effectively and efficiently measure the quality of those features.
Be a voice of the consumer on the team and help hone the end user experience through thoughtful testing and validation
Engineer new automated testing methodologies
Partner with developers to write automation code
Improve the development experience via automated pipelines that includes timely feedback and a seamless path to release-level quality
Add and democratize new forms of telemetry, data, and metrics to allow the team to measure, debug, and make decisions based on data analytics and dashboards
Monitor, debug, improve, and fix breakages within our automated & analytics infrastructure
Help ensure new code moves easily through our development pipeline
Work with the Operations teams when issues are found in deployed/production features
Own services from end-to-end by being part of the on-call rotation
Ability to break down complex problems into elegant, testable pieces
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise with:
Jenkins (or other CI build systems)
RESTful API testing
Building and using automated test frameworks
Basic data analytic skills (Kibana, Grafana, DataDog)
Configuration Management and Deployment Tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
AWS or similar API-driven cloud computing platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
