Software Development Engineer in Test - Embedded Applications

As a Senior SDET on the Player Evolution team, you will be responsible for testing software technologies for the industry’s most advanced multi-room audio playback experiences. We are the team responsible for developing and advancing a core set of components and functionalities to allow music to be played throughout the home, whether with the same song or different songs at same time. You will be working at the center of the Sonos product universe and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the business across multiple disciplines of software and hardware to deliver a system that’s not only pleasant and easy to use but also with high level of audio quality and system reliability. 
This role involves working with modern tools on the leading edge of embedded software development, testing and data analytics. You’ll have an opportunity to be involved with all aspects of the product life cycle, with focusing on test planning, design, automation and many test infrastructure and telemetry system implementation that enables continuous, high-quality releases.

What You’ll Do
•  Be an active participant and engaged part of your feature team – you are the voice of both quality and the customer during the development process.
•  Collaborate with all aspects of the product teams to deliver features that are well implemented, tested, and documented at the end of each sprint.
•  Review product requirements, specifications, and design documents to begin test development early and uncover issues prior to implementation.
•  Proactively work with the development team to investigate logs, debug both software and hardware issues, triage bugs to determine root cause and establish prioritization.
•  Expand, improve and maintain existing automated regression test suites.
•  Design and instrument system telemetry to help understand product usage and reliability.
•  Build and improve software tools and processes to help to achieve higher engineering efficiency.

Skills You’ll Need
•  Solid understanding of software test engineering principles, tools, techniques and execution with an emphasis on automation and framework design.
•  Excellent problem solving, analytical and technical troubleshooting skills
•  Strong software design fundamentals (data-structures, algorithms, design patterns, etc.) in any of the modern programming languages.
•  Minimum 5 years of experience working with Linux operating system and with multi-threaded programming and embedded systems.
•  Strong development and debugging skills in C/C++ and Python (or similar languages)
•  Experience in computer networking knowledge is a plus
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•  Strive in a fast-paced agile environment
•  BS or higher degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
