Location: Santa Barbara

Req#: 4578

Sonos is looking for a Senior UX designer to join our hardware UX team in Santa Barbara. In this role, you will work as a core member of the team that delivers premiere home theater experiences at Sonos, including setup and configuration experiences, on-product UI, and sound and light feedback from our home theater products and the broader Sonos experience platform. Driving and executing against the roadmap and company strategy, you’ll work closely with colleagues in design, research, product management, software development, user documentation and copy writing to create simple and engaging experiences from concept to final product.

About You:

You're an experienced and talented UX designer with a portfolio of engaging consumer products. You've established a track record of delivering delightful user experiences, and you're looking for a unique new challenge to refine your craft as a product designer and grow your experience at the intersection of hardware and software. You have the interest and aptitude to grasp the underlying architecture of a complex system and translate it into simple and engaging user experiences. You are experienced enough to understand the energy, adaptability and organization that you need to bring to the early stages of an ambiguous program and the relentless attention to detail needed to responsibly partner through development, product launch and beyond. You prototype, test, and refine your ideas in innovative ways and constantly engage your partners in the process. You execute with relentless attention to detail, but can also work strategically and identify long term goals. You are a system thinker, adept at making products that work cohesively across multiple platforms. Through your strong communication abilities you always ensure there is alignment across all disciplines and amongst all partners.

About You

You're not like everyone else.

You bring a unique perspective to the table. Transparency tops your list of values. Your smarts and creativity are off the charts, matched only by your humility. You want to collaborate with a team of diverse talent. You proactively contribute to a culture of respect and inclusion.

You enjoy a challenge.

Inquisitive and focused, you see every challenge as an opportunity. You're ambitious and unafraid to make mistakes because you learn from them and bounce back quickly. You don't stop until you get it right. "Impossible" isn't in your vocabulary. You're more interested in creating the future than waiting for it.

You love to listen.

You start every interaction from a place of listening and seeking to understand. You're culturally connected. You remember your first concert. You can readily recommend a binge-worthy show on Netflix, Hulu or HBO. You can't sit in traffic without a great audiobook, podcast or album. You can make a killer playlist. Your idea of a good weekend includes watching a movie or playing a video game.
