We are looking for a strong team player to join the growing global tax team. 

Under the direction of the global tax leader, this role will contribute to and oversee the international aspects of Sonos’ tax strategy, compliance, reporting and controversy efforts. Our environment is fun and fast-paced and we are a constantly adapting team.

A successful candidate will have strong tax technical ability, solid business acumen, and a proven track record of building strong business partner relationships.  You will work directly with members of our regional business teams and global functional groups.

What You’ll Do
  • Monitor/Advise/Implement US and international legislative developments
    • Territorial, border tax, repatriation, OECD BEPS)
  • Responsible for all US international compliance including but not limited to:
    • Earnings and profits calculations
    • Subpart F and other deemed income inclusion analysis 
    • US FTC
  • Manage Sonos' transfer pricing operations including calculations, documentation, inter-company agreements and assessment of strategic planning opportunities
  • Assist with the determination and approval of interim and annual income tax provisions for international entities including preparation of FIN 48 memos and related analysis.
  • Manage global permanent establishment positions 
  • Responsible for the timely review and submission of statutory tax reporting for international locations
  • Advise business partners on tax considerations of geographic expansion plans - implement new transfer pricing and or structuring to accommodate  
  • Responsible for the strategic management of international audits 
  • Liaise with accounting and logistics teams, as required, on indirect tax matters 
  • Primary contact for treasury team on all funding and cash transfer/repatriation matters
  • Develop strong relationships with international tax advisors to ensure efficient coordination of outsourced projects
  • Advise and partner with human resources and business partners regarding the tax implications of expatriate or short term international assignments 
  • Assist with assigned projects related to research and planning on international tax matters
Skills You’ll Need
  • BS in Accounting, CPA and or MST preferred
  • 8 years’ corporate tax experience in industry or public accounting including 3 in international tax 
  • Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint and Word
  • Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Intense attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast paced and dynamic environment with a high degree of personal accountability 
  • Self-starter - demonstrating high energy/creativity and entrepreneurial spirit
