Quality Assurance Engineer - First Experience Technology
Department: Platforms and Infrastructure
This will be an individual contributor position, focused on all aspects of quality in the solutions that we deliver to display/demo our products at physical retail locations. This will involve working with our entire team as we develop, test, manufacture and deploy the highest quality retail displays.
Sonos’ retail display technology is full stack (embedded systems, custom router software/firmware, networking and cloud infrastructure).

Ensuring quality on projects, work closely with Technical Project Manager, Engineering Team and the Field Team.
Develop test plans.
Set up test systems.
Execute test plans.
Generate test reports.
Be a member of the support escalation team.
5+ years of experience in software/systems quality assurance.
Understanding of quality assurance methodologies and best practices.
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Responsible, team-oriented and process aware.
A lover of digital music and consumer electronics.
Ability to multitask as we are often testing multiple projects at the same time.
BS/BA in Engineering, Computer Science or a Quality/Reliability related discipline.
Test automation experience.
Hardware troubleshooting skills.
Networking experience/troubleshooting (TCP, UDP, Wireshark, tcpdump, spanning tree, routing, etc).
Experience with Unix/Linux (especially at the command line level).
Scripting (Shell, Perl, Python, etc).
Understanding of consumer audio/video (streaming, S/PDIF, HDMI, encoding standards, etc).
Experience working with and/or in a retail environment.
Experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment.
Working knowledge of at least one foreign language.
