Sonos is looking for an exceptional Operations Manager B2B/ E-Commerce to manage our business operations function in Japan. At Sonos, we strive to bring an epic music experience to music lovers around the world. The Operations/ E-commerce team plays an essential role in bringing this experience to life, and this role is at the forefront of launching and growing our business operations capabilities in Japan. 
In 2018, Sonos will be entering the Japanese market for the first time and launching a strong presence and building robust business operation functions are key to our entry and growth strategy. We’re looking for someone with strong operations, supply chain, e-commerce and local market knowledge and experience that can help us build and grow these capabilities.    
As part of our corporate strategy to “Lead with Direct Relationships”, we strongly believe that having a native DTC, eCommerce/operations lead for Japan is critical to our success. The job is to implement our strategy to launch and grow our DTC E-Commerce business and business operations capability in Japan by partnering with respective global functions.

What You’ll Do
  • Responsible for B2B and E-commerce Operations in Japan
  • Deliver customer centric, optimized E-commerce experiences.
  • Drive initiatives and projects cross functionally. 
  • Day to day vendor management and provide input into our long-term vendor planning.  
  • Identify, prioritize, plan and lead continuous process improvements.  
  • Collaborate with, organize and manage cross-functional teams including Operations, Marketing, Web Publishing, Information Technology, Customer Care, and Accounting.
  • Ensure major campaigns and launches align with customer experiences and can be supported by Operations.
  • Use merchandising to make the most compelling place to shop for Sonos; launch special and limited edition, products, an accessories portfolio, and personalized site merchandising experiences.
  • Improve conversion by driving new service enhancements; challenge our platform & logistics partners to deliver new and innovative functionality and services to position Sonos as an online shopping leader.    
  • Establish leading Operations, payment & fulfillment experiences in each region.
  • Participate as a member of the Global Fulfilment and Returns leadership team and the Global E-commerce team.
  • Partner with the planning teams ensuring seamless execution of Business plans.
  • Establish product allocation prioritization protocol for Japan and manage weekly channel allocation process when/if it’s needed.
  • Support Japan commercial and global logistics team for periodic business (CPFR/monthly/quarterly) review with retail partners and logistics service providers.
  • Support import compliance process. 
Skills You’ll Need
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B/e-commerce Operations, with at least 7+ years of partner/vendor management experience.
  • Proven success building and leading B2B/ E-commerce Operations function for the long-term. 
  • Been a part of an organization that has successfully built a consumer brand, highly values the overall customer experience, and understands how this manifest’s, itself through the entire organization.
  • Deep understanding and experience of Logistics, Fulfilment, Integrated Business Planning, S&OP process and governance.
  • Strong functional understanding of contemporary e-commerce technologies and platforms.
  • Deep track record in developing customer experiences to improve conversion and satisfaction across touchpoints.
  • Proven track record assuming ownership, moving quickly to implement ideas, and delivering results and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience/expertise on import compliance is a huge plus.
  • Commitment to collaboration & great skill in this area to (a) create a culture of collaboration amongst the Global Fulfilment and Returns team, the E-commerce team and the local Country Leadership and (b) work effectively & constructively with the other teams at Sonos.
  • Must have a good mixture of drive and empathy; having the empathy to identify the true value drivers for our key customers (based on their biggest need) and the drive to deliver that value.  
  • Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image. 
  • Intelligent, articulate and able to relate to people at all levels of the organization; excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Japanese.
