New Graduate 2020 | Mechanical Engineering Analyst

In this position you will provide Mechanical Engineering Structural and Thermal Analysis solutions to the Sonos ME Team.  Our Mechanical Engineering Analysts work directly with Product Development Engineers to support the mechanical design, fabrication, testing and prototyping of components, fixtures, test samples, and assemblies.

What You’ll Do
  • Ultimately be able to use simulation tools such as ANSYS and FloEFD to provide thermal and structural analysis results for design and development of components and assemblies.
  • Work closely with design engineers, material scientists, and test engineers in hands-on thermal, drop shock, static structural and vibration testing of components and assemblies.
  • Provide support during construction of prototype product. 

Skills You’ll Need
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum educational requirements: BSME at a 4 year university. 
  • Previous co-op/internship experience in an ME related position.
  • Demonstrated experience with 3D modeling tools.
  • Fundamental understanding of how mechanical devices are designed and fabricated.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute analysis tasks independently. 
  • Ability to collect and present technical data. 
  • Ability to collaborate in a highly diverse, cross-functional team. 
  • Ability to travel domestically when needed.
  • Discretion to work in a highly confidential setting.
  • Ability to apply mechanical design theory, FBDs, hand calcs and other analytical tools (Excel, Matlab, etc.) in design projects. 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with Finite Element or Computational Fluid software.
  • Prior experience with data acquisition during instrumented hardware testing. 
  • Prior experience with Siemens NX 11 and Windchill.
