Sonos is the wireless Home Sound System that fills as many rooms as you want with great-sounding music, movies and TV. Stream via WiFi. Play whatever you’re craving. And amp up every moment with intense, pulse-pounding sound. Sonos blends spectacular fidelity with genuine convenience to bring back the shared, seductive joy of listening out loud, to the right song at just the right instant, in that one place that matters most.

Our products stream all the music on earth, in every room, wirelessly, and you control it all from the palm of your hand. Our partners share our passion and build compelling experiences that showcase their ingenuity alongside our own. Software Engineers at Sonos collaborate with some of the brightest minds across multiple disciplines in software, hardware, design, and research. Sonos is easy to use, but keeping things simple and bug free is hard work.

As a member of one of our software teams, you will be directly involved in bringing listeners the Sonos experience. We are hiring dozens of 2019 new grads to join our many Software teams at Sonos. Our junior team members work directly with their teams on real features from the start. Here are some features that junior talent at Sonos work on:

  • Plumbing events through the distributed system
  • Implementing a searchable music services menu
  • Integrating a 3rd party addition to our web services
  • Refactoring infrastructure in our Setup Wizards
  • Specializing integrations for music service partners
  • Creating tooling to monitor the operations of our web services
About You

You're not like everyone else.

You bring a unique perspective to the table. Transparency tops your list of values. Your smarts and creativity are off the charts, matched only by your humility. You want to collaborate with a team of diverse talent. You proactively contribute to a culture of respect and inclusion.

You enjoy a challenge.

Inquisitive and focused, you see every challenge as an opportunity. You're ambitious and unafraid to make mistakes because you learn from them and bounce back quickly. You don't stop until you get it right. "Impossible" isn't in your vocabulary. You're more interested in creating the future than waiting for it.

You love to listen.

You start every interaction from a place of listening and seeking to understand. You're culturally connected. You remember your first concert. You can readily recommend a binge-worthy show on Netflix, Hulu or HBO. You can't sit in traffic without a great audiobook, podcast or album. You can make a killer playlist. Your idea of a good weekend includes watching a movie or playing a video game.

What You’ll Do
  • You will investigate and learn constantly while delivering professional customer-facing software.
  • You will have a mentor who will be your guide.
  • You will collaborate with your team to coordinate on larger features.
  • You will fix bugs that annoy our users or write scripts to verify that those bugs never come back.
  • You will work with your cross-disciplinary team in an agile development environment; Software Development, Software Test, Software Product Management, and User Experience work together as one team.
  • You will participate in code reviews and design discussions.
  • You will ask questions, think on your feet, and absorb lots of information.
  • You will explore and innovate on the Sonos products during hack week.
