Mechanical CAD Administrator

The Mechanical CAD Administrator reports to the Mechanical Engineering Director and supports multiple organizations including Mechanical Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Industrial Design, Transducer Engineering, and Packaging Engineering.  Sonos is a worldwide organization and the MCAD Admin supports all users with an average of twelve requests for assistance every day.

What You’ll Do

In this role, the MCAD Admin supports a worldwide team of users who use NX and Windchill as the primary tools for developing Sonos products.  Responsibilities include support calls from MCAD users, assisting with NX feature creation, and dealing with Windchill database issues. Additionally, the MCAD Admin is responsible for vetting and distributing MCAD tool upgrades and patches.

Job Duties:  

  • Assist with the Windchill installation, customization, upgrade and maintenance. 

  • Rehost the production Windchill environment and test the update and patches before installing on the production servers.

  • NX installation, customization and troubleshooting for users. 

  • NX license and license server management. 

  • Training users on Windchill and NX. 

  • Work with PTC and Siemens Tech Support to resolve Windchill and NX related issues.

Skills You’ll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Information Systems.

  • 5 years of CAD Administration experience.

  • Expertise in NX and Windchill administration, troubleshooting, applying patches and upgrades.

  • Experience with training users on NX and Windchill.

  • Experience with Lmtool to set up, upgrade and maintain CAD floating licenses.

  • Experience with MCAD-ECAD data exchange between NX and Allegro using IDX.

  • Should be able to support users in various time zones.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with Creo, Solidworks, Ansys, FloEFD, Cadence, Keyshot, ArtiosCAD etc.
