The Data Ops Team is responsible for the strategy, overall health, performance and reliability of our SQL Server, Snowflake and other database infrastructure, as well as development of necessary tools and automation to ensure database scale, performance and security. The team is looking for a manager with vision and leadership skills to build and direct the team as it takes on new challenges that are key to support Sonos’ growing product portfolio, customer base and data infrastructure.  The manager should have a strong desire to learn complex systems as well as new technologies and to act as a player-coach to the team.

What You’ll Do
In this role you will: 
  • Work with teams across the Data Platforms and Processes group to support databases for both transactional as well as IoT data
  • Ensure systems availability, scale and performance 
  • Assist with issues relating to system performance 
  • Develop key automation and monitoring scripts 
  • Identify and performance tune poorly performing queries 
  • Assist with the design and maintenance of redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery to ensure effective availability, protection, confidentiality of data, and integrity of data assets 
  • Optimize performance of SQL databases in production and non production environments 
  • Support FCI/AG, Log shipping, and SQL Server replication
Skills You’ll Need
  • 10+ years experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server  
  • 5+ years experience managing enterprise databases in AWS
  • Experience deploying and managing Snowflake warehouses
  • Experience as a player-coach leader
  • Familiarity with SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS, NiFi, Boomi
  • Ability to meet SLAs and provide timely resolution to prioritize issues 
  • Work effectively within team and department 

Great to Have:
  • Experience with managing Analytics tool deployments such as Tableau, Microstrategy  
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Powershell, Python, Bash
