Lead Front End Engineer - Sonos for Business

We are building out a new Sonos Business initiative to bring this experience into new commercial market segments. We are focusing on both marshaling our existing technology as well as building new functionality in support of these new customer scenarios. As a lead front end engineer, you will be an integral part of this brand new product team at Sonos. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of new web functionality across a wide variety of Sonos scenarios for this new offering. You’ll view shipping V1 as the starting line and will rapidly and continuously learn from our customers and iterate.

What You’ll Do
  • Act as a leader to define the application architecture enabling the delivery of Sonos product functionality via the web.
  • Develop software that enhances the user experience informed by the user’s role and persona.
  • Bring new and existing and aspects of the Sonos experience for commercial markets to the browser by working in areas from the top to bottom of the web application stack.
  • Develop software that consistently provides insight into its usage, health and performance in the field.
  • Work closely with partner teams to understand, build upon, and adapt existing tech to accomplish new high value scenarios.
Skills You’ll Need
  • Experience leading teams in the design and implementation of reliable and innovative application architectures. 
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proven track record of shipping reliable, extensible and maintainable web applications.
  • Strong knowledge of web development using state of the art Javascript frameworks, HTML, CSS, and web application development tools.
  • Degree in Computer Science, related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Unrelenting customer focus.
  • Passion for elegant, efficient and scalable software development approaches.
  • Experience with modern declarative JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, and/or Vue.
  • Experience with strong typing via TypeScript or Flow.
  • Polyglot excited to bring your horsepower to bear across a variety of problem spaces and technologies.
