The Sonos Compliance Engineering team is tasked with evaluating the Compliance of the best audio designs in the industry - Sonos products!  The team is responsible for new product designs and ongoing Compliance of products in mass production. The technical challenges include: Product Safety, RF (FCC and ETSI), EMC and EMI to International standards. The scope of the team also involves the applicable Environmental product regulations such at Energy Efficiency, RoHS, REACH and WEEE.

What You’ll Do
The Compliance Engineer is responsible for making sure that all Sonos products meet the applicable worldwide Safety, RF and EMC standards. 
The right candidate will have experience performing Safety, intentional emissions (RF), EMC and EMI testing, personally and through third parties with a strong ability to troubleshoot test failures. If you love music, solving challenging technical problems and developing award winning products, we would like to talk to you!
Skills You’ll Need
• Ownership of worldwide regulatory Compliance certifications for SONOS products 
• Set out strategies for optimizing Compliance design & testing in a fast moving product development environment.
• Keep track of ongoing changes for worldwide Safety, RF. EMC, EMI and Environmental Compliance matters.
• Involvement in “Design for Compliance” throughout the product design lifecycle.
• Testing of prototype products and troubleshooting Safety, RF, EMC, and EMI issues. 
• Work independently to perform pre-compliance testing. 
• Work with cross functional engineering and design teams to create excellent products.
• Work with third parties to coordinate compliance testing. 
• Achieve approvals and archive certification documentation. 
• Analyze data and prepare reports. 

Preferred:

• 10-15 years as a Lead Compliance Engineer.
• Ability to guide product design (e.g. PCB layout) to avoid Safety, RF, EMC or EMI issues. 
• Ability to perform electrical measurements, RF, EMC and EMI testing. 
• Ability to debug Safety, RF, EMC and EMI issues. 
• Experience with RF (preferably 802.11 Wi-Fi) products. 
• Experience with consumer products. 
• Willingness to travel within the US and internationally. 
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills. 
• Experience with Asian Contract Manufacturers. 
• Experience working with third parties to accomplish outsourced work.
