We are looking for an experienced leader to assume the role as a Change Management Manager.  This person will be responsible for ensuring Sonos has the right Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, developing our Product Configuration Process, ensuring the integrity of data is maintained at the highest level and all technical documentation used in the development and manufacturing of our products follows strict standards.

You will be responsible for all technical aspects of our product configuration control and change management process.  This will require close collaboration with our technical staff to develop processes and roll-out across our organization and partners.  This role requires an engineering background and technical experience to drive innovation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and sense of ownership.  In addition, this person should have excellent leadership and communication skills to guide an advanced engineering team through the Change Management process.   You must be a self-starter with a passion for quality and an ability to coordinate multiple teams across the globe.  

Working with our New Product Development and Product Development Teams, you will ensure that our industry-leading product designs are accurately captured within our PLM system.  You will develop deep engagement with our Acoustics, Electrical, Mechanical, Radio Engineering, Sustaining, and Tooling Teams.  In addition, you will work closely with our Manufacturing, NPI, Quality and Sourcing Teams to ensure proper execution of design changes at our manufacturing partners in Asia.

What You’ll Do
  • Overall owner of Sonos Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System.  Responsible for maintaining business contract, appropriate service level, user subscriptions, integrations & system tools.
  • Owns relationship with PLM Company and works directly with them to optimize and advance their system capabilities to meet Sonos’ requirements.  
  • Continually assess Sonos business requirements to ensure we have the right PLM system to sustain future growth.
  • Oversee all PLM system activities/functions across all NPI Programs to ensure compliance with Engineering Change Management Process.  Ensure accuracy and completeness of information entered into the PLM system.  Sole owner of all PLM administration functions.
  • Continually improve and streamline the Engineering Change Management process, working with Quality Management System process engineering personnel.  
  • Approve, qualify and train all users, including partners, on the appropriate use.
  • Guide and train others through the Engineering Change Request and Qualification process.
  • Final review and authorization for all NPI Change requests.  Work with originators to prioritize and assign to appropriate team(s).  Audit Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for technical content and appropriate reviewer/approver routings.
Skills You’ll Need
  • Minimum four-year degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience working with PLM tools, preferably with administrator experience.
  • Experience with PLM tools such as Arena and Agile (JDE) strongly preferred.
  • Able to provide leadership to a development organization in developing, implementing, training and maintaining change management control.
  • Ability to lead by influence.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work on a global scale.
  • Deep understanding of engineering documentation processes, Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes. 
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers in Asia, preferably in the Consumer Electronics industry.
  • Understanding of EE and ME BOM structures.
  • Willingness to travel within the US and to Asia. (10-15%)
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as Engineering Change Requests, electronics schematics, mechanical drawings, testing standards, operating procedures, and maintenance plans.
  • Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) a plus.
  • Experience with collaboration tools (such as Confluence, SharePoint) and/or defect management tools (such as Jira) is a plus.
