The Application Administration Team is responsible for the operation of our largest Application systems, and ensuring that operational data between systems continues to flow, and that transactions are recorded timely and correctly.

What You’ll Do
Operational Efficiency: 
Do you recognize when you’re doing the same thing over and over? Does that bother you? Can you use your scripting / coding skills to automate away some of the daily grind? A large part of this role is going to be ensuring that documents flow seamlessly between systems. These documents represent real business happening and need to be routed to the correct partners quickly and efficiently. We strive to never be in the way of operations by emphasizing elegant workflow solutions that enable rather than hinder. 

Communicate Effectively: 
You’ll be working directly with Operations Teams, Developers, Partners, Managers, Analysts... the list goes on. You will have your eye-on-the-prize and getting the right people engaged swiftly.  You will be able to communicate issues effectively,  leading discussions to drive us forward successfully. 

Operational Excellence: 
When we build things, we build them to last. By being data driven, you will measure the success of solutions with metrics and dashboards, as well as the health of the tools we use and services we provide. 

ERP and Applications Systems Operations and Maintenance:
Our Environment is broad reaching, and requires coordination and cooperation between many functional groups, including Security, Finance, Business Operations and others. Ensuring these systems are monitored and secure is part of the mission of our team.

Skills You’ll Need
Systems and Platforms:
We love to focus on platforms at Sonos; resources that can be used across the organization as opposed to being siloed for a specific function.  We also have many systems at Sonos to organize how our IT infrastructure works. Familiarity with the Microsoft family of products & infrastructure and cloud platforms such as AWS / SAP Cloud Platform would be a great addition to our team.

Flexibility:
We work in a multitude of applications, mostly centering around ERP (Microsoft Dynamics GP and SAP S4/Hana - in the future). The types of requests from these platforms varies from a stuck integration to a broken financial batch or transaction that requires a SQL update. The ideal candidate won’t shy away from learning new things or getting outside of their comfort zone when it comes to new platforms. 

Support:
Our team works very closely with different aspects of the Sonos engine, whether its Finance, Sales Operations, Logistics, Procurement, and others. These teams look to us for assistance in their integrations, or looking to make changes to systems on their behalf. A strong sense of partnership and willingness to collaborate with others is paramount.

The Right Tools:
The right person for the job will have some experience with tools like Postman, Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server management studio (SSMS). You will also have used multiple web browsers to help troubleshoot issues with our cloud based solutions for our many business partners in the organization.

Scripting and Automating:
Operational Data Flow is the name of the game within the Applications Administration Team, which often means routing incomplete or erroneous messages to the proper teams and channels. Who is the proper owner of the message? Who is impacted? Is there a way to automate the response?  You will orchestrate the workflow of these messages and work with Business and Technical teams to propose solutions to repeat problems. You will use scripting tools to quickly identify documents and patterns within our environment, update multiple documents with similar issues, or use automation tools to turn a once problem issue into a thing of the past.
