The Corporate Finance team at Sonos is a highly visible and close-knit team responsible for executing the company’s corporate development and strategy objectives as well as overseeing and directing the company’s balance sheet and capital markets operations. The Corporate Finance team’s activities include evaluating and negotiating acquisition and JV opportunities, conducting buy vs. build/partner analyses, assessing new markets for potential organic and inorganic expansion, collaborating cross-functionally within the organization to evaluate strategic opportunities as well as optimizing the company’s capital structure and public market operations. The Corporate Finance team is responsible for a number of recent, successful acquisitions contributing to the growth of Sonos’ business globally, and the team evaluates numerous opportunities on an ongoing basis.

As a member of the Corporate Finance team, you will join a highly focused team reporting to the Director of Corporate Finance and will assist the team in evaluating external opportunities for expansion by assessing new markets, industry trends and competitive dynamics; building and evaluating a pipeline of acquisition opportunities to expand the company’s global operations and growth opportunities; assisting with the negotiation and execution of these opportunities; and assisting with the execution of capital markets transactions.

What You’ll Do
  • Support the company’s acquisition strategy by conducting financial analyses including, valuation, accretion / dilution, contribution analysis and IRR in order to evaluate the strategic and financial merits of potential acquisitions
  • Partner with internal teams in a cross functional manner to advance corporate strategy, including identifying and quantifying strategic gaps, identifying potential acquisitions and partnerships and developing build-versus-buy analyses
  • Evaluate external trends, new and existing addressable markets as well as monitor and interpret peer financial and operational metrics
  • Support deal execution by coordinating and collaborating with multiple internal teams to drive completion of due diligence through disciplined process  management and tracking
  • Assist with post-transaction integration 
  • Analyzing comparable transactions and identifying key drivers of value
  • Track and manage a pipeline of acquisition opportunities and produce analytics for corporate development efforts 
  • Assist with bank relationship management
  • Analyze and execute potential capital markets operations such as debt and equity offerings and share repurchases
Skills You’ll Need
Basic qualifications:
  • Investment banking experience with focus on M&A buy- or sell-side processes
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling and presentation skills

Preferred qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years investment banking experience from a bulge bracket or leading boutique investment bank
  • Additional buy-side or corporate development experience additive but not required
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling and presentation skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization; judgement and maturity when interacting with senior leaders of the Company
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive by nature
  • A knack for taking ownership of complex problems and generating potential solutions
  • Undergraduate degree with strong academic record
  • Technology industry experience a plus
  • Proficiency with Excel and Capital IQ/FactSet/Bloomberg
