Accounts Payable Specialist

Under the direction of the Global Manager Accounts Payable and Cash EMEA, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for a variety of Accounts Payable duties such as matching and coding of invoices, approval verification, data entry, communication with vendors and internal company personnel.

What You’ll Do
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment 
  • Prepare, process and file payments
  • Execute payment process
  • Accurate coding of all transactions 
  • Follow up open invoices and educate the business
  • Match invoices to respective purchase orders
  • Audit and process out of Pocket and Credit card expense reports in Concur
  • Fully understand European VAT and can apply those rules when processing transactions 
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Assist in month end closing
  • Completes tasks or projects as assigned by the Global Manager Accounts Payable and Cash EMEA
  • Special projects and additional duties in support of the accounting function as assigned from time to time

Skills You’ll Need
  • 2 years relevant experience, including experience working with mid-range accounting systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel, Concur experience is a plus
  • Must have strong work ethics, organized and a self-starter
  • Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to speak and write English and Dutch fluently
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures 
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and outside contacts in a professional, discrete, and concise manner
  • Ability to define and solve problems, collect pertinent data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
